Asst. Prof. Dr. Živa Kos

 Dr. Živa Kos is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana.

She obtained her PhD from the Faculty of Education, UL, on the topic of quality assessment and quality assurance in education. She is a collaborator of the Center for Educational Policy Studies, (CEPS) at Faculty of Education UL.

Her research areas are education, quality assessment and assurance, educational policies, collaborative commons in the field of education, teacher education, sociology of family and gender equality. She has been involved in various national and international research projects dealing with education, such as:

-Neoliberalism in the European Education Area: Between the Effectiveness and Equity of Slovenian Educational Policies and Practices,

- Preparing teachers for diversity: the role of initial teacher education,

- Systems approach for better education results,

-Gearing roles - challenging and transforming gender roles and identities linked to professional careers, and work in academia.

 

She participates in national and international conferences and is a member of the Slovenian Sociological Society.

 

She is the author and co-author of various scientific and professional articles/chapter related to the issues of education.
