The course acquaints students with the historical, political, economic, social and cultural characteristics of modern Spain, from the beginning of transition up to the present day:
Basic geographic characteristics.
Spain's Autonomous Communities.
Historical overview from 1975 to the present.
Socio-political system and governance arrangements.
Modern Spain's economy.
Admission into the European Community.
Problems of modern Spain.
Selected topics on the social and /or cultural aspects of contemporary Spain.
